King shares, 'For me, living in Wisconsin, I see that moment as very pivotal. It’s the moment where my grandmother made a decision that ultimately led to this life that I have here in Wisconsin.'

King's personal experiences as a parent have also influenced his art. He explains, 'Art and parenting are so intertwined that they’re really inseparable. Both have been transformational for me.' His engineering background, characterized by methodical and detail-oriented thinking, contrasts with the intuitive and improvisational nature of art. However, raising children has inspired him to embrace a more spontaneous and creative approach, mirroring his children's uninhibited creativity.
